In the recent past weeks, the Ministry of Information and the National Communications Authority, (NCA) has leveled an accusation against MTN Ghana, the country's largest telecommunications network company. The allegations were based on the fact that MTN Ghana has the biggest share of telecomunication network subscriber(ship). It is reported that MTN holds 75% of the customers while the other companies compete for the remaining 25% of the customers Ghana has to offer.
Many people on social media and radio networks condemned the act calling it share envy. This was after the Ministry of Information issued a statement saying there were disparities and unbalances in the telecommunications industry. The ministry however stated that it was not on an evil hunt with MTN but trying to correct a mistake in the system.
But MTN Ghana has held a press conference recently that it has filed a case against the NCA for not their actions against the company.
Selorm Adadevoh complained bitterly calling the action of the government agency unfair and cited same reason for they filing the case. While the government has not responded yet, it was reported earlier that government is set to break the monopoly of MTN.
Blow are a snapshot of the document published by MTN Ghana.
